If you've experienced a distressing event that has interrupted your emotional and physical well-being, there's a chance you may be struggling with some trauma symptoms. Trauma is assessed through the subjective (but very real) experience of particular emotional states and the body feeling hyjacked. Trauma isn't diagnosed by the event, but through the way in which the individual experiences the event.
